In a world of Wi-Fi dead zones, scattered apps, and tech-heavy setups, SIF set out to simplify smart living—not just through hardware, but via thoughtful, intuitive digital experiences. Built for the unique needs of Indian homes, the SIF ecosystem included:

As the sole designer on the project, I led the end-to-end design effort across all digital touchpoints.

The goal was clear: design a frictionless, intelligent smart home experience that empowered everyday users - parents, children, and non-tech-savvy individuals alike - while giving SIF a competitive edge in a saturated market.

Understanding the Problem Landscape

Most Wi-Fi and smart home solutions on the market are built for tech-savvy users in ideal environments - not the reality of Indian homes. Through early discovery and stakeholder discussions, we identified four core challenges that SIF needed to solve:

Key Challenges Identified:

  1. Poor Connectivity: Thick walls, poor layouts, and fluctuating power made Wi-Fi unreliable.

  2. Lack of Control: Users—especially parents—struggled to manage devices and monitor usage.

  3. Limited Extensibility: Most setups weren’t future-proof or modular.

  4. Lack of Intelligence: Competing products lacked actionable insights or automation.
